Yaowen Zhang, male, born in 1964, is a Bachelor of Agriculture, professor, master supervisor and researcher in Shanxi Agricultural University; Director of the National Edible Bean Industry Technology System Cultivation and Soil Fertilizer Research Office, position expert, and member of the executive expert group; currently serving as vice president of Shanxi Small Coarse Cereals Association; expert of Shanxi non major crop variety Approval Committee; leader of Academic Professions in Shanxi, "333" talents and leading talents in emerging industries in Shanxi. He won the Shanxi Youth Science and technology award, the title of Shanxi's young scientists, and the Merit Citation Class III. He is also an expert of the scientific and technological achievements review expert database of Beijing, Hebei, Henan, Sichuan, Shandong, Anhui, and Guangdong Provinces.

Overview of  Research

Professor Zhang has long been engaged in the scientific research of edible bean cultivar breeding and cultivation technology. He has presided over 50 projects including the modern agricultural industrial technology system, the edible bean system, the 948 project, the national science and technology support plan, the industry-specific provincial key research and development, and the central guidance local projects. There are more than 10 major research and development projects, provincial key research and development projects, and provincial basic research and development projects. More than 10 papers have been published in international and national academic journals. Obtained 10 national patents and formulated 5 local standards in Shanxi Province. Won 1 first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 2 third prizes of Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Agriculture, 1 first prize of Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology Achievement Award, 3 second prizes of Shanxi Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 third prize of Shanxi Province Rural Technology 4 first and second prizes for contracting awards.
